9 Months Later…

He was born 7 lbs and 14 oz. He now weighs a whopping 22 pounds (his next doctor visits approaches so that figure is subject to change in a matter of days). He once sat placidly in his crib enjoying time alone with his toys and his own adorable baby coos. He now refuses to sit (or stand) in his crib for longer than 10 minutes. He once fell asleep with ease. He now fights me until he’s red in the face once bedtime arrives.

9 months later, a lot has changed! Perhaps most notably is my immense love for him. I thought the day I held him in my arms that I’d never feel a love that great ever again. But my love for my son grows each day. With each sunrise comes a stronger, warmer, and fuller love for another living being that I couldn’t have imagined if I tried my best. It’s an amazing feeling and I thank God for a healthy, joyful and active baby boy!

It’s been a while since my last update and I promise that I will be blogging more actively from henceforth! The hustle and bussle of life is just no joke. Between careers, motherhood, relationships and the junk load of other in betweens, my time is spent wherever I’m needed most and unfortunately, my blogging has taken a huge hit. But with practice, I’ve managed to hone in on my time management skills and better manage my life as it is. Here are a few things that’ve taken place since I’ve been gone:

  1. Aeon is now crawling…and though I prayed for this day to come, I now know what folks mean when they say, “Be careful what you pray for!”
  2. Aeon is trying to talk! It’s absolutely adorable. I awake to him mumbling small and random words like ‘Mommy’, ‘Boo’ and ‘Cat’.
  3. Aeon is a picky eater. That’s right. If he doesn’t want it, he makes it known by spitting it out and smearing the mess on his high chair. That’s my boy!
  4. Aeon is throwing tantrums. He’s so young, I’m hesitant to call them that. But when he doesn’t get his way, he stretches his body out in aggravation and whines. Adorable the first few times, downright irritating now. But we’re working on this.
  5. Aeon dances! His favorite song is the Alvin and The Chipmunks theme song. Needless to say, this will probably be the theme for his 1st birthday.
  6. Aeon is still nursing. A feat I am very proud of! I didn’t think I’d make it this long, but we’re still going strong.
  7. Aeon doesn’t believe in naps nor will he sleep in his crib…and Mommy needs to invest in stronger coffee as a result.
  8. Aeon is trying to walk! And after realizing the havoc he can cause with mobility, I’m investing in all of the gates and play pins I possibly can!

I’ll expand on a few of these updates and more soon. There’s a lot more to share and I definitely plan to do so much more frequently in the weeks to come.

But for today, please join me in celebrating Aeon’s 9th Month in the world! I love you Baby Aeon. May the months to come bring us abundant health, joy, peace, and Love!
