Comparison Is The Thief Of Joy
John P. Weiss

A related point to consider that the same jealousy — or at least a closely related variant of it —exists even within artists who have achieved a large measure of success. Though I have sold thousands of paintings over my forty-year career as a professional artist, I still marvel at the works of other painters who I admire. Your observation that “outsiders” rarely consider the trials of their heroes, from paying the rent to dealing with all the parts of the business that require spending large amounts of time away from the easel is astute. Thanks for sharing your experience.
