I might be kicked out of boarding house
And why adults are always right, for some reason
It was a Thursday morning,I had barely slept during the night owing to my incessant sneezing and I felt like shit. I raised my head and looked around and I saw everyone getting dressed to go to school, other people were still asleep, I woke some of them and asked if they were going to school and they responded in negative. The only time I remember sleeping in the dormitory was in my first year, I hadn't done it again since, but here I was,my head feeling like it would fall apart and my friends were not going to school. I decided to join my friends in the dormitory and sleep instead of going to the school nurse - who would have told me to go away if I went to see her anyway - and also when I have anything similar to a cold,it's not a pretty sight to behold,my point being,I'd rather be alone when I'm sick.
Some hours later someone opened the dormitory for the cadet to enter and change because they just finished training and as a result, other third years, entered, "for what reason?" you might ask? They came to play cards.
Now,keep in mind, my school prohibits gambling, and also because of sheer ignorance, when anyone sees you playing cards they assume you're gambling.
I'm not saying nobody was gambling but if you wanna prove someone guilty, at least have some tangible proof.Oh they had proof alright, they claimed someone told them we were gambling, they also had something else on their side; they happen to be adults.
In Ghana, this is how it usually works,no matter how ignorant and bigoted someone sounds, if they're adults, they're right.
They didn't necessarily need any proof and they didn't have any, they're adults.
They gave us letters to give to our parents to come to the school to discuss our wrongdoings, they're probably not gonna do anything to me, they could kick me out of boarding house but I wouldn't really mind, it’s not exactly a five star hotel.
I think it's good that this happened, they at least gave me something to write about.
Also, what do you guys think of my haircut? I don’t really care for it, but my parents say it makes me look like a "gentle" boy, I'm sure they're right, they're adults after all.
Update:For those of you who care, I was not kicked out, they gave me a one week suspension.
