We are delighted to announce the initiation of the Pooling phase on Build3rs.io

Monument:

The site of Abu Simbel, located in Egypt, is famous for its two temples carved out of the rock during the reign of Ramses II in the 13th century B.C. Historically, these temples were built to commemorate the victory at the Battle of Qadesh and honor the gods Amun, Ra and Ptah. Touristically, Abu Simbel is a popular destination, not least for its colossal statues and the incredible international rescue of the temples in the 1960s, to relocate and protect them from the waters of Lake Nasser following the construction of the Aswan High Dam. The site is also famous for its twice-yearly solar phenomenon, when the sun’s rays illuminate the statues in the inner sanctuary.

Milestone 1–100 000 PLAY

Hypostyle room of the Great Temple of Abu Simbel

Architectural marvel, characterized by its imposing columns adorned with reliefs detailing Ramses II’s military exploits and offerings to the gods. This hall, supported by eight colossal pillars depicting the pharaoh in the form of Osiris, leads to the inner sanctum. It is a focal point of the tour, where visitors can admire the skill of the craftsmen of the time and the magnitude of the work involved in creating such a grandiose and symbolically powerful space. The Hypostyle Hall, with its hieroglyphs and sculptures, offers a captivating insight into the grandeur and spirituality of ancient Egypt.

Current polling Capturing initial data and assembling a digital twin. This first funding objective aims to gather all the data needed to create an initial digital twin, which will then be used to create usable 3D models. At this stage, all the data will be assembled in a global model that is not optimised for any specific use case.

Pooling details

Stage 1: Data collection through datahunting open to users and partners

This first milestone for Abu Simbel involves creating a digital twin of Hypostyle room of the Great Temple of Abu Simbel. Data collection is open to users of the platform, who can send photos or videos of the monument.

The hunt for data is on! In return for $PLAY initially and royalties later, contributors can share the data they own or go to the site to collect it for the occasion.

The total amount allocated to collecting data for Hypostyle room of the Great Temple of Abu Simbel is 50 000$PLAY.

How do you capture data?

Simply take a photo or film of the object from all angles, 360° horizontally and vertically. The minimum resolution of your lens should be 1.2 Megapixels.

For more information on the technical specifications required, the submission process and fees, visit our Discord (https://discord.com/invite/6H8MKMsBbV). A dedicated channel will be available to answer any questions you may have about datahunting.

Step 2: AI training and creation of 3D scenes: Aggregating all the data by aligning it in a single spatial reference frame to create a 3D model that incorporates all the richness of the source data.

Our AI, named Zigg-E, will analyse all the incoming data to define their angle of view in relation to each other, and thus align them in a single 3D reference frame. However, all these points of view do not represent all possible points of view on an object. The AI will therefore create the set of missing viewpoints between each pre-existing image. Based on this new set of data, the AI will train itself to create an ultra-detailed 3D model.

Step 3: Creation of exports ready to be sold under licence

At this stage of the project, the master model created by the Zigg-E AI will leave the field of possible uses open. Knowing that for each type of use, an optimisation is necessary, the contributors themselves will decide which optimisation to prioritise.

Step 4: Export sales

The exports will be offered for sale on the Build3rs.io platform marketplace. Each optimisation decided by the contributors to this milestone will be available on the market.
