It is an exciting and much anticipated day for us at Layer One. We have wanted to make this blog post for longer than any of you can imagine.
Updates this week
So, to start things off, there is a handful of changes happening this week. Here’s everything you need to know:
- The current version of Layer One will be going away
- A brand new, fully rebuilt , version of Layer One will be taking it’s place.
- Some things will be brought over from the last version, some will not.
- Your layouts will be lost. Unfortunately because of the rebuild for the site we cannot migrate the original dashboard layouts you had.
- We are going to be migrating all of your previous bits, tips, subs, follows & host data.
- Trial users will become free users (the trial is no longer a thing.)
- We are getting rid of our queue, the moment you sign in you’re getting access!
- We’re going into Open Beta! 🙌
With this rebuild there will be a few bugs. We’ve killed as many of them as possible but, there is a chance we missed a few. Please let us know of any issues you run into. You can contact us on twitter.
New Features
There are a few new features this patch! Lots of quality of life updates and a couple other additions as well.
Change log
- Back end has been rebuilt. Notifications should be more accurate & much much faster now.
- Cards will update even while you are not live now.
- The front end was also rebuilt. The site should load faster, feel more responsive & be more resource efficient for your pc.
- Plus users can now add multiple of the same card. This can be used for a handful of things such as separated notifications feeds:
It’s also useful for loading multiple chats for when you stream with friends:
- Edit mode has been redesigned.
- Added searching to our cards list so you can find the cards you want.
- The Pretzel player no longer automatically plays when you first open the site.
The Future
Now that we have gotten the site rebuilt we are going to start regularly adding new features again! Imagine a kid eating cake for the first time, that was how excited the dev team was when they realized this over the weekend. More so, there are updates and new features inbound later this week!
