How Le Coffee Guy Roasts His Coffees.
Roasting… For some say it’s an art, for some it’s a science, for others it’s a mystery…
For those who don’t know what roasting means, it’s the process of turning (or “cooking) green coffee beans in the beans you get at home. In other words, Coffee roasting is a complex process that involves the careful application of heat to green coffee in an effort to transform the basic stuff of life contained within each seed — sugars, proteins, acids, etc — into delightful aromas of roasted nuts, malts, chocolate, fruit, berries, flowers and more.
We take great care with each coffee, blending scientific data logging with intuition and experience to bring out a balanced taste and optimal flavor.
For this crucial stage, Le Coffee Guy partnered with “La Compagnie des Torréfacteurs” which is a collaborative roasting company located in Strasbourg, France. Here, we have the privilege to use a fantastic collaborative work tool which a single roaster would not be able to afford alone. We work with a team of experts and work out every single detail to bring out the best each coffee has to offer. By working together and mutualizing the cost, we’re able to set up an efficient cost structure which allows us to offer our coffee at very competitive prices.

Thanks to this partnership, Le Coffee Guy participates in exchanging know-how between the partners and innovates with them thanks to cutting-edge technology.
Let’s take a quick tour around the roasting facilities and then we’ll walk your through the different stages of our roasting process.
A Tour Around Our Roasting Facilities.

The Roasting Stages of Le Coffee Guy’s Coffees.
1. Filling up the “Beast” !
At the beginning of each batch, raw “green” coffee is loaded into the roaster’s charging system.

2. The Roasting of Coffee itself.
Each Coffee has been carefully studied behorehand to determine a roasting profile that expresses the terroir and reveals its nuances and aromas.

3. Pack them up!
After the roasting, the coffee is put in silos to “degas”. After which it’s packed and sealed in our specially designed coffee pouches in a neutral atmosphere so that the coffee stays fresh when it gets to your door!

We ship our coffee in beans or grind the coffee for our customers before each shipment.

Some of us live for the journey, some of us live for the destination, and some of us just want a quicky. For the latter, our coffees are also available in Nespresso compatible capsules.
