The quick, basic guide you need to understand before creating your next lead magnet.
Before you dive in and start brainstorming your next lead magnet, you really need to understand what it is. If you have a firm understanding and have made a few successful lead magnets, then this probably isn’t for you…BUT it’s always good to be refreshed.
Goal: to have people accept your offer in exchange for their contact information.
Lead magnets come in all shapes and sizes. Anything from a 1 page pdf download, a short “how-to” guide, a 45 page e-book, a 10% off coupon…you name it. Whatever your lead magnet is, it has to be highly valuable and something they can use RIGHT AWAY.
The more specific you can be with your lead magnet, the more likely you are to get the lead.
For example: “Our 4 step process of turning ice cold traffic into 8 new deals in 16 days.”
THINK: “If I download this right now, could I use it and start seeing results tomorrow?” It also needs to answer the question: “What’s in it for me?” You aren’t going to get people to give you their information if your lead magnet doesn’t directly benefit them. Finally, your lead magnet needs to make people a little bit curious.

Concepts to Consider
Each lead magnet doesn’t need to sell your product directly. Just make sure your lead magnet is related. The idea of the lead magnet is to provide value so the customer will perceive you as a resource to help them get ahead in their business.
Once they opt-in, you can then create another offer from the “Thank You” page or follow up email, which helps move that customer down your funnel…eventually to the point where they take your core offer and become your life long customer.

Typically the sale won’t be made right away. Try and provide as much “value-first” content until then feel comfortable moving forward with you.
It is now a buyer’s market and there is a lot of competition where all these different companies are fighting for that customer’s attention. It’s your job as a company to stay relevant in the buyer’s eyes until they are ready to take a profitable action.
