Gratitude Journal — January 14, 2016— Date Night

I am grateful for the fact I had a wonderful date night with my beautiful wife. She picked us up dinner from Farm Boy. She got me a spicy sweet potato soup, some fried chicken and a lovely side of some kind of fermented cabbage. Kale and mushroom soup and sushi for her. We ate while watching a movie. It sure as hell beat the TV dinners from the 70’s and 80's!

Speaking of movies — we watched an outstanding one together last night. It was called Her and was directed by Spike Jonze. Or at least I think that’s how you spell his name. It was called Her and it was one of the best, most thought-provoking movies I have seen in a long time. The sets were beautiful and rich and the acting was top notch. The gist of it is that it’s set a little bit in the future and this guy falls in love with a sentient operating system. The movie really makes you ponder what love is. If the fashion is accurate I think I have a problem with the pants of the future. Highly recommended!

After finishing the movie and picking up the kids, Tanja and I went for a beautiful walk in the snow. I hate winter but this really was beautiful. The snow was lightly falling and there was hardly a soul to be seen. It was very peaceful. For a place that is not New Mexico or Arizona it was very nice.

And last but not least, I am grateful for the beautiful card that Melody made while they were at Grandma’s. Our girls are thoughtful. This will be a nice addition to my office and will make me smile when I look over at it.

I am grateful for today. What are you grateful for?

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
