The economics of biking to work

I love this and often wonder the same thing. I bike 18 miles to work each way, every day. Except in the winter because I’m a wimp. My amazing carbon fiber bike costs more to maintain than my Honda, I’m sure of it. The tires are the same price for crying out loud and I go through far more of them on my bike.
But as far as irrational love for inanimate object goes, the bike wins hands down. A sunrise in my car blinds me on my way to work. A sunrise on my bike is a magical moment of unity with nature. Priceless.
