How To Get Motivated When Your Stuck In A Rut !
There’s no doubt about it life is hard at times, with no guarantees. The only thing that is guaranteed is change, growing old and ultimately death. That’s reality.
We all get mentally and emotionally down from time to time. What keeps successful people’s eye on the prize is their mental muscle — which is fuelled by thinking the right thoughts — and taking action.
The brain is just as important as all the other muscles in your body and like them needs training. The more you use it, the stronger it gets. It can be your worst energy or your best friend. Make it your best friend by training it to work for you, not against you.
There’re many ways you can do this. Surrounding yourself with the right people. Watching inspiring videos. Reading and educating yourself. Setting goals. Listening music. Making sure your ‘why’ and ‘purpose’ is compelling enough to keep propelling you forwards. Check out my blog on this very subject here. But above all action is key no matter how small.
Another thing I do when I need to get my hustle back is read motivational quotes. Here are three of my all-time favourites …
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is out light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves ‘who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous?’ Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory that is within us. It is not in someone of us; it is in everyone. And as we let out light shine, we unconsciously give others permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our fear, our presence automatically liberates other.” Nelson Mandela
“This too shall pass” Sufi Poet
“When you sow a thought, you reap an action, when you sow an action you reap a habit when you sow a habit, you reap a character and when you sow a character you reap a destiny. Thoughts are like seeds. You cannot sow the seeds of one plant and get another: thistles will never produce daffodils. When your thoughts are positive, powerful and constructive, your life will reflect this.” Anon
