Welcome to our monthly series, Frogger Spotlight. At LeapFrog Systems, it’s always Froggers first, and we want to showcase our best and brightest. Whether you’re interested in learning more about what it’s like to be a Frogger, want to meet a fellow Frogger, or just killing some time, we think this series has a little something for everyone. This month meet Chris Whiteley. After spending a year with one of our clients in Boston, Chris recently began a new engagement as an Agile Player/Coach in Merrimack, New Hampshire!

How long have you been a Frogger?

I’ve been a Frogger since January 2017.

What type of consulting do you do?

I’m an Agile Player/Coach working primarily with Business and IT groups on their Agile transformations.

What is the best thing about being a consultant?

I love working across industries and organizations, meeting new people, and working together to improve overall team and organizational effectiveness. There’s nothing like watching a team succeed and seeing the pride they take in themselves and their work, knowing that you played a role in getting them there.

What is the most challenging thing about being a consultant?

We challenge peoples paradigms on a daily basis. We take them out of their comfort zone and try to move into a mindset of continuous improvement. This isn’t always an easy process, but those who choose to lean in and work at it are often changed forever. They learn to seek to deliver value instead of just work, to not just manage but to lead with vision and purpose.

What technology trend are you most excited to see continue to progress? Why?

For me it has to be the dawning realization that pretty much every organization is a technology organization. Almost everything businesses do these days is driven or enabled by technology. With this realization we begin to move as IT departments that support the business to ones that partner with the business driving growth and success.

What do you do in your free time?

I’m a single father and sole parent of an amazing 11 year old boy. My free time these days is spent finding new adventures with him or just simply laughing and playing together.

What would someone be surprised to know about you?

People are usually most surprised to learn that I’m a former Marine and that I have a daily meditation and yoga practice. These two things seem to be diametrically opposed in the minds of most people I meet. I can’t imagine why…

Night owl or early bird?

Definitely early bird! So much so that I get made fun of for it.
