Breathe

A poem

Labored breathing
heartbeat fast
face on pavement
littered glass

Voices pleading
darkness falls
blood is dripping
heaven calls

Heartbeat slowing
shoulders slump
eyelids flutter
giving up

Eyes turn upward
calling out
no one stopping
time runs out.
