We Are the Product

Dear Platforms of All Stripes,
I visit you on your website, your mobile application and wherever else to READ content that has interested me. To Learn something interesting or grow.
I get it, Ads pay the bills, but...
When I realize that I am the product, that my eyeballs and clicks are your inventory and I am being sold to advertisers, I no longer have any interest in your content.
The value is lost. Because now I am the value being sold and I am not gaining in that transaction. I can’t wade through enough popup, screen or overlay ads to find the original reason I arrived.
Love Always,
A former customer/eyeball owner.
