Simple way to get postgresql and pgAdmin III up and running: http://www.indjango.com/ubuntu-install-postgresql-and-pgadmin/
Viewing data
To view a table’s data in pgAdmin III you must navigate down into the correct schema and highlight the desired table. Then you can click the big blue button at the top that looks like a table to view all the rows.
Inserting Columns
Click on a table, and double click anywhere in the ‘properties’ tab area. Click on the ‘Columns’ tab and add away.
Updating primary key
Again by double clicking on the properties tab we navigate to the ‘constraints’ tab with the options to add a constraint appearing at the bottom.
