I can be a hypocrite but I know I’m not alone.

Why am I not alone?

I say I’m spontaneous and adventurous but I still operate within a sphere of comfort. It can be a complex sphere but a sphere nonetheless.

I believe we’re all wired differently but we all want to be happy. Yes, we all have different definitions of happiness but it’s clear, as humans, we strive for fulfillment — for family — for community — for belonging. We all want to belong.

Even when we’re trying not to belong; we’re trying to belong.

Comfort (Definition): Easy to accommodate oneself to or associate with.

Community (Synonyms): Similarity. Likeness.

We’re programmed to avoid uncomfortable situations yet history tells us we should create uncomfortable situations.

New ideas.

New roles.

New teams.

New communities.

I’m unemployed without out a plan and it’s ok. Is this a reflection of my previous employer? No, it’s a new definition of myself.

We ALL need to feel uncomfortable — in life — to be happy.
