Uncomfortable can be positive
I can be a hypocrite but I know I’m not alone.
Why am I not alone?
I say I’m spontaneous and adventurous but I still operate within a sphere of comfort. It can be a complex sphere but a sphere nonetheless.
I believe we’re all wired differently but we all want to be happy. Yes, we all have different definitions of happiness but it’s clear, as humans, we strive for fulfillment — for family — for community — for belonging. We all want to belong.
Even when we’re trying not to belong; we’re trying to belong.
Comfort (Definition): Easy to accommodate oneself to or associate with.
Community (Synonyms): Similarity. Likeness.
We’re programmed to avoid uncomfortable situations yet history tells us we should create uncomfortable situations.
New ideas.
New roles.
New teams.
New communities.
I’m unemployed without out a plan and it’s ok. Is this a reflection of my previous employer? No, it’s a new definition of myself.
We ALL need to feel uncomfortable — in life — to be happy.
