The Future Is Car Lending, Not Car Sharing. An Infographic


We believe that in the future we’ll own less physical stuff. In this near future the stuff that we do own will be used more effectively and efficiently, reducing waste, under utilisation and unnecessary expenditure. In a world of limited resources this just seems sensible and rational, right?

Many of us are already doing this with cars. We lend and borrow cars all the time for a whole host of reasons — sometimes with regularity, sometimes ad-hoc, sometimes for the unexpected events that life throws at us all from time to time. We’ve all borrowed our girlfriend or boyfriend’s car, friend’s cars, our family’s cars — and they’re always happy to help us out when we need it.

This isn’t really about the big picture of sharing resources, although ultimately this behaviour should be considered an aspect of that growing cultural movement.

We asked a bunch of people that were interested in our idea and this is what they told us:
