Cardinals Vs Colts Preview and Thursday Night Football

Week two of the NFL season starts tonight with the Bengals and the Texans squaring off. Both teams looked absolutely dreadful last week and the Texans have already benched Tom Savage in favor of the rookie from Clemson, Deshaun Watson

Watson was able to relieve Savage late in their 29–7 loss against the Jaguars and scored their lone touchdown of that game.

I really liked Watson in this draft, but the Texans traded up ahead of the Cardinals to get their guy.

Looking ahead to the Cardinals match up I am predicting a win. However, I am not expecting a blowout similar to the Rams game. I think that the Colts are better than what they showed last Sunday and the Cardinals will be playing their fourth game in a row on the road if you include the pre-season. As long as DJ Humphries and more importantly David Johnson are out the Cardinals will have to rely on their defense keeping them in games and the offense doing just enough to squeak out wins.

The Colts have not decided on who to give the start at QB to yet. The Colts started Scott Tolzien last week, but his dreadful play against the Rams got him benched in favor of Jacoby Brissett the former Patriot that they acquired in a trade with New England during the pre-season. I expect that even if Tolzien starts that we will see Brissett at some point in the game and it could be completely different than what we saw last week.

I need to see a lot out of Carson Palmer this week to keep my normally ridiculously high faith in the Cardinals. I can usually find the silver lining in any season, but I keep saying this, We are only as good as Carson Palmer plays. If he plays like he did last week, we are in deep trouble and may want to start tanking to grab one of these stellar QBs coming up in this draft. rookie
