I am Lenny Letcher, and this is your Long Ball Breakdown,

Falcons running back Devonta Freeman got paid. He received a five year 41.25 million dollar contract. This is big news considering that Le’Veon Bell and David Johnson are both in line to receive huge pay raises over the next couple of years and this sets the bar that the Steelers and Cardinals must clear.

The Dbacks got a win yesterday against the Dodgers. It is no secret that the Dbacks have been struggling and the Dodgers have been on fire, but a Jake Lamb grand slam was the difference in a 6–3 win for the Snakes. For the Dodgers, it was their eighth loss in 52 games or more recently their fourth loss since I wrote about the Dodgers vs. Dbacks series on July fourth. This stretch for Arizona is critical for their belief that they have a chance in the post season. After they finish up with the Dodgers, they play the Cubs and then the Astros. It is exciting to see what this team is made of.

Our new sponsor Sage Academy is starting classes today. I am excited to drop my kids off for day one of school. That is correct; I am not advertising for a school that I don’t believe in fully. My kids are very excited to go back see their friends and get the school year started. If you’re not as excited as you want to be about your local school, check out Sage Academy on 7st and Hearn.
