Kyrie to Phoenix, Full Pads and Brandon Flowers

The Suns are in the news right now as a possible trade partner with the Cleveland Cavaliers for the services of Kyrie Irving.

When the news first broke of Kyrie’s desire to leave Cleveland, I immediately took to Twitter to offer up Eric Bledsoe in return. That seems to be one of the pieces in this mix, but the rumor floating around is the Cavs are also asking for rookie Josh Jackson and potentially a future draft pick as well.

To me, that is asking too much for a guy that is demanding a trade out of your city. Kyrie is a heck of a player, and I do think that he would fit with Devin Booker at the two, I don’t want to give up a young athletic piece that will set the tone for us defensively.

It was the first day of full pads at Cardinals training camp. Watching the offensive and defensive lines go at each other is one of the best things to watch all camp. On day one, it is even more intense, because it is the first time for the big guys to show off their physicality. Robert Nkiemdiche dominated the second unit offensive line, guys. On a couple plays it was not that he pushed past them, he made them look like they weren’t even there. If he plays with that kind of motor all season, I am not sure how much we will end up missing Calais Campbell at all.

Justin Bethel continued to have success with a pass break up and an interception yesterday, but that is not stopping Keim from searching for more depth at cornerback. Former Chargers corner Brandon Flowers was in town yesterday visiting with the Cardinals to see if he would be a fit for us. He is also rumored to be in conversation with the Patriots, so this signing is not locked in just yet. I am so glad that football is back.
