We do, but you are correct, it’s become a rare occurrence. There aren’t very many people who are good at it either. Yesterday, after a man offered to help me with me with my bags, he asked me if I could spare any change so he could get on the bus. I gave him a couple of bucks. Then he said, “So. . .what do you do in your spare time?” He was trying to flirt with me after he had just asked me for money!

Another time a guy sat next to me on the subway and asked if I was married. I said “No, I hadn’t met the right guy yet.” He responded, “That’s because I’m the guy.” Then I said, “Well where the hell have you been? You are really late.”

It was a fun exchange even though he turned out to be a narcissist and a bit of a stalker.

Flirting is on the verge of becoming a lost art and I’m getting nowhere on Bumble. I hope it makes a comeback.
