Navy Personnel Not Safe At Sea?

Something is seriously wrong within the Navy’s 7th Fleet Destroyer Community. Two highly maneuverable top-of-the-line Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyers with multiple radar and sonar systems, equipped transponders that receive Automatic Identification System (AIS) data that is transmitted by ships at sea, collide with slow moving merchant ships in open waters. AIS Data provides information pertaining to a ships longitude and latitude, time, heading, speed, ships navigation status, under power or at anchor, speed, direction and other important information about the ships in the vicinity. Yet, the 505 foot long USS Fitzgerald; DDG 62, with a max speed greater than 30 knots was rammed by the 730 foot MV ACX Crystal; a container ship with a maximum speed of 18.5 knots, and the USS John S. McCain DDG 56 with specs matching those of the Fitzgerald, was rammed by the Alnic MC; an oil tanker with a top speed of 8.9 knots. Why? How?

Watch this YouTube video of the USS Gonzalez, DDG-66 making a high-speed turn.

25% of the Destroyer Fleet out of Yokosuka, Japan was disabled because two of their destroyers were rammed in less than 70 days. Is this becoming the norm? Which are we to believe —Navy Destroyer Squadron (DESRON) 15 destroyer leadership and crews are incompetent, poorly trained, the onboard electronic defensive and offensive systems are crap, the four of gas turbine engines on each ship failed and they became floating targets, or the onboard electronic systems were somehow compromised. The Fitzgerald and the John McCain were designed to monitor and track everything on and under the sea, and in the air, and to electronically coordinate military attacks on hundreds of targets simultaneously. This class of ship has a tight turning radius and can virtually turn on a dime, but neither ship could detect or get out of the way of slower ships that are slightly longer than a city block? Do you feel me? Media reports about the incidents focuses on the condition of the ships and the plight of the crews. There is little discussion about why the ships advanced radar systems failed to safeguard the two destroyers and its personnel.

The Captain, Executive Officer and the Command Master Chief of the Fitzgerald were relieved for lack of confidence along with 12 other crew on watch at the time of the collision who are facing Non-Judicial-Punishment. The Navy is in the initial stages of their investigation as to why the USS John S. McCain was struck by an oil tanker. Current word is that the USS McCain suffered a loss of steering control. Destroyer commanders know their ships “Crashback” capability, meaning these ships can go from a 30+ knots forward speed to full reverse in less than 20 seconds. It is difficult to believe that the two accidents were just a coincidence.

There is an obscure connection with another interesting event that occurred in June of 2014. The USS Donald Cook; DDG 75, also an Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer, was reported to be disabled by an unmanned Russian SU-24. The Russian jet carried advanced electronic jamming technology (Khibiny) based on Magrav Technology that turned off all of the electronic systems critical to its mission, leaving it dead in the water. Although that story is said to have been debunked, the technology exists and is being used by many countries around the globe, including our allies. Even more interesting is why President Obama banned the use of Magrav Technology in the United States in 2012. When it has the capability of forcing world peace? One answer immediately comes to mind; the MIC (Military Industrial Complex) needs conflict to uphold the sales of weapons, including those of mass destruction. The American Public does not benefit from weapon sales.

Evidence has been mounting and the jury is in. This radar defeating technology does exist. It should lead us to question if our Sailors and Marines serving on military ships are safe at sea? And, if our government is aware the Russians and most certainly their ally's have Magrav Technology that can disable our ships, aircraft, and satellites, why continue to antagonize and play dangerous games with them and the lives of our military personnel, and risk loosing Destroyers that cost on average 1.8 Billion Dollars each?
