The sad point is that many toy guns look exactly like real ones, usually with the addition of an orange or yellow tip plug which can be easily removed. This then makes it impossible for anyone to claim they can distinguish a toy from a real gun in a crisis circumstance where citizens or officers may believe their lives are in jeopardy. The whole story is quite different from other shootings, and I wish advocates would stop lumping all into the same bucket. There is a continuum of responsibility in every instance, and here the reality is far more obscured than in others.
