Everything that happened from 10:51 pm last Monday until this point (12:20 pm central time)

Super Bowl fever touched the NBA. I’m lit. Dreams and Nighmares is on repeat. Let’s go.

Loyalty, loyalty, loyalty; 10–4, no switchin’ sides

Blake Griffin is now a Detroit Piston. After an elaborate free agent meeting where the Clipper organization pitched the idea of Blake being a “Lifelong Clipper.” A true pioneer for the organization just like Einstein and Obama, who have their jerseys in the rafters. While that sounds wild to some, Blake seemed to revel in the idea.

Never forget that this is a business. The Clippers obviously saw the injuries, trajectory of the season and decided to tear it all down. Blake was among the first moves made during the trade deadline. So DJ and Lou Will are most likely the next to be moved.

Blake’s reaction to the trade was the best.

Clipper Darrell was H O T

#NBATwitter was crying and writing their threaded think pieces about loyalty, bemoaning the fact it no longer exists, and players should be free to make moves. I hope they keep that same energy when players make business decisions and leave their favorite team during free agency.

Injury Bug #LordCarryThemNow

More players were injured in the NBA this week. Most notable of the group being Kevin Love and John Wall. Who were All-Stars that would need to be replaced in All-Star game (more on that in the next section). Team LeBron has been taking L’s all week.

John Wall has had lingering issues this season with his knees, which are always a concern after having sugery on both knees.

The Wizards seem to have figured out winning the game of basketball with Wall out. Momentarily.

The spiraling Cavs have lost their second best player, Kevin Love, with a fractured hand that will also keep him out of another All-Star Game. This is an injury the Cavs can ill afford with their team teetering on the edge of full on collapse.

Isaiah Canaan also suffered an awful ankle injury pretty similar to Gordon Hayward’s.

At some point there needs to be a larger discussion about tweeting and retweeting grusome injuries and grusome images in general.

I’m good on the injuries NBA. Cut them out. It’s not good for the game. Thanks.

All-Star Teams: The Return of Snub SZN

Due to injuries 2 All-Stars were replaced this week. Congrats to Andre Drummond (those backflips paid off) and Goran Dragic.

Snub SZN was revived for another week. Fans wanted Lou Will to be upset, but he plays in the Western Conference, so we got no tweets.

Some young players felt that they may have been overlooked. Or they were conveniently tweeting about something else entirely around the time the Drummond selection was made.

Their time will come, but this time aint it.

The Skills Challenge, the Dunk, and 3-Point contest contestants have been named as well.

Unfortunely Aaron Gordon is injured, but he will be replaced by Donovan Mitchell which should be exciting.

Summer, Summer, Summer time

All 30 NBA teams will participate in Summer League 2018 in Vegas this year.

This is a great oppourtunity for the league to fill the down time of summer sports. There were some pretty great games last year and ratings were high, hopefully this year can achieve similar results.

Cavs still have 99 Problems and Defense is 1

The Cavs are teetering closer to spiraling, and Kevin Love being out with a broken hand does not help things.

We opened the week with the article and learned that Danny G has seized control of basketball operations. On this episode of Real Basketball Players of Cleveland the Danny G vs LeBron saga continues. At this point the storyline is getting a bit repetitive. Danny G wants to be the GM, Talent Scout and the talent. Let me know when he makes himself the starting point guard. That will add some spice to this.

Danny G wants to make basketball decisions, not the best idea, but it’s his team. LeBron won’t tell Danny G he’s staying, who would? Its a mess, but both sides are controlling what they can control. One happens to be the owner and the other happens to be the best basketball player on the planet who happened to be born near Cleveland. This is only a small chunk of the problem with the Cavs. The team stinks too!

Cavs lost by 30 on national television, their poor play against good west teams continued and IT is questioning the effort of the team

The same IT that no one helped off of the floor

LeBron thinks the Cavs should be banned from national tv, and I agree

LeBron is talking about trust, but I’m not sure how trust can be built when IT and Danny G are “friends,” the locker room is leaking information like a faucet, the team has no whole point guard, and no one can shoot. There’s a laundry list of problems here. Bring Richard Jefferson back he was obviously more important than any one imagined.

Fans Wildin’

Fans are generally treated as an untouchable group because they paid to be there, so anything goes. One fan took things to the next level and decided to personally storm the court after Denver’s thrilling win over OKC.

Russ handled that whole situation very well. People are crazy and you never know what their intentions are when they approach you like that.

Internet folks are never pleased and some were upset that the fan was banned and called it “harsh.” Athletes are “big and imposing” what’s a regular guy going to do? Well internet folks, if they did not punish this guy then someone else would try something, and then more people would try. No one wants that. No one wants to be banned from these games, especially when their team seems to be heading in a positive direction. So the punishment is just fine.

The league did not punish Russ, which is the right move.

Fans stay in your lane.

Hacked?

The Golden State Warriors should just leave the tweeting to Julie, it just gets them in trouble. This week in post and delete, Steve Kerr got caught up. You may think you’re quick, but #NBATwitter is quicker

Mr. Kerr did not take the tried and true “I was hacked” way out. He owned up to his mistakes

Be careful out here folks

The NFL invades the NBA

Super Bowl Sunday is a national holiday, even for NBA players.

Jimmy B is a true gem, and my next goal in life is to top this by shooting dice at Super Bowl LIII

Joel Embiid #1 Eagle fan was in the building

Ben Simmons watched the game in Philly

Steph Curry was there too

Dion is Lit

Kobe Lit

Joel LIT of course

KD hopped on IG and was talking greasy to everyone (from his own account).

Kyle Lowry returned to the north victorious

Other Happenings

  • Rest in peace to Rasual Butler and his wife Leah

James Harden

CJ McCollum

  • Jabari Parker Byke. There’s still a little bit of room on the Bucks bandwagon.
  • Trade SZN
  • Never go full Kelly Oubre. He took to Instagram to talk about PG “dancing” on him

Girl, it’s not even that serious. People get dunked on and crossed everyday b.

The caption wasn’t embarrassing, the play wasn’t either, but go off.

  • Get you a Dirk
  • #ThisIsWhyWePlay
  • KAT with the in depth analysis
  • Bill Russell Legend
