Why I Didn’t Pay for My Son’s College Education

For what it’s worth, as a son who paid for most of my schooling with loans and scholarships, I appreciate that my parents didn’t pay too much. They could have, but the lessons of discipline and responsibility are better than any tuition could buy anyway.

So, as a sort of an awkward surrogate thing: thank you. I genuinely believe that’s the right choice in the end.

And paying off student loans is super exciting. I’m now debt free and it’s crazy how much you can save when you’re out from under it.
