Great question. If you think of chat as ‘language’ then it makes sense that we see bots showing up in more and more places where we use language to interact; that bots will become better at having conversations; and that will continue until we have methods to communicate more efficiently and natively (to the human). Following that line of thought, the future could be a lot longer for bots than apps. There’s more to that — notably that bots are entities, not just ‘interfaces’ — but that’s for the next post.
