Jon, I completely agree and thankful to you for this post. I think this all comes from experience. When someone starts out they don’t have the confidence to put their foot down. They are only trying to get up on their feet. With a little experience comes confidence. I’ve definitely gone through this when I began consulting as a UX Designer 6 years ago. Now, having experience and having dealt with all different kind of clients I know when to walk away. I’ve actually written a similar post on how I pick my clients and not the other way.
