I believe it was in the novel Carry On, Mr. Bowditch that it was mentioned that in order to be free “we have to be free.” That means that in order for a good person to be free to say anything a bad person must have likewise freedom, at least insofar as ideas are concerned. If those companies censored “bad ideas” that they considered to be such, what does that mean for us as a society? We are willing to sacrifice freedom for “peace?” Isn’t that the opposite of the American experiment? I’m sorry, but here’s the thing: it’s disrespectful as (do NOT pardon my French) FUCK what was said to this girl on social media, but it’s like that anonymous writer writing on behalf of Voltaire’s views once said: “I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.”
