10/19: 5 NBA Plays and One Big Dart Throw
We back! A nice little Thursday with a potentially good NFL game and 3 game NBA slate. We get the new look Thunder tonight vs the new look but still garbage Knicks. The battle of LA as the Lakers and CP3less Clippers square off. And the game we’re all waiting for, the infighting Chicago Bulls taking on Canada. Before we dive in let’s take a quick look at how we did last night. John Wall did his John Wall things by putting up 50 FD points. D’Angelo Russell is only going to get more expensive with Lin out again so buy in early. He dropped 42 fantasy points. Favors was OKAY with a 26.8 FD night. Greg Monroe was very disappointing only dropping 18.7 against the sad frontcourt of Boston. Dragic was solid with 35 points and our One Big Dart Throw came through last night as Conley put up 42.7. The issue was Wall and Lillard both dropped 50 burgers so playing Conley left us behind. Alright! Let’s go.
The Lakers and Clippers have the highest total today with the O/U set 220.5 It’s also slated to be the closest game of the night with the Lakers favored by 5. The other 2 games both have blow out potential with the Thunder favored by 12 (215 O/U) and the Raptors favored by 13 (206.5). We aren’t going to cover Westbrook today. He will be chalk. He’s a good play. Duh.
Blake Griffin (9500 FD): I suspect Blake will be chalk as well but I don’t care. I might go 100% on him tonight. He’s in a great matchup against the Lakers who struggled mightly against big men last year and added Brook Fucking Lopez to the mix. The clips no longer have CP3 trying to break the court with his pounding of the ball and the offense should just flow through Blake. 100% BLAKE TONIGHT BABY!
Lou Williams (4700 FD): Lou Williams is another guy I might be 100% in on tonight. He’s very cheap and in a juicy matchup. Lou is going to get buckets whether he’s in the starting 5 or coming off the bench. He’s what everyone thinks Jamal Crawford still is but isn’t anymore. The Lakers backcourt defense is about as good as their frontcourt so it’s BAD and Lou should just feast. Also, narrative street. Going against his former team. Give me Lou!
Lauri Markkanen (6500 FD): Well, he got priced way up for tonight. Why? Because Portis beat the shit out of Mirotic and they are both out for the forseeable future. I don’t LOVE this play BUT in decently paced game Markkanen is probably going to play close to 40 minutes tonight. It’s not a sexy pick and a good way to differentiate yourself from the field. I don’t love playing rookies in their first game, but with the minutes he’s going to put up tonight, I could see a 40 point game.
Jordan Clarkson (4700 FD): With the KCP suspension Clarkson should see a ton of run tonight. He’s also going to get a lot of Lou Will D in a fast paced close game. Clarkson should get plenty of open looks with his new PG Lonzo dishing. I like JC a lot tonight.
Brook Lopez (7400 FD): Because the Lakers Frontcourt Defense is so bad, I wouldn’t be surprised if Blake and DJ are over 50% tonight. Especially in a 3 game slate. One way to differentiate yourself is to pivot from DJ to Brook. DJ always gets defensive player of the year recognition because of how he blocks shots and rebounds…but talented big men can still bang up DJ. We saw last year as Brook got hot at the edn of the year, that he’s develeoped an outside shot which will give DJ fits. Brook is a great GPP option tonight.
It’s Dart Throw time! Let’s win ourselves a GPP huh?
Michael Beasley (4000 FD): It’s too early to tell but I assume Beasley will go overlooked tonight. He’s super cheap and playing behind Porzingis. That being said, if the game remains close I think Beasley will be the first guy off the bench and see a lot of minutes, but if we get to blow out territory I STILL think Beasley will see a lot of minutes. Beasley should BEASILY hit 5x tonight and could even see a 7x performance with the high total.
