His Sense of Humor Often Stole the Show

John F. Kennedy was blessed with numerous innate gifts. He was extremely intelligent but always wanted to learn more. He was strong-willed but willing to be flexible when the situation warranted it. Perhaps though two of his strongest traits were his charisma and sense of humor. He was the first president to give routine press conferences on television and he loved every minute of it. Well, maybe not every minute but he did enjoy the intellectual sparring with the reporters and the chance to showcase his uncanny wit.

Watch these collections of press conferences. If you look closely, you can almost see the precise moment when he formed the answer in his head and he knew it was going to be a good one. There’s even a line about a successful spacefaring monkey….
