The PRIDE Employee Resource Group (ERG) put together an incredible month of events, initiatives and activities to celebrate and observe PRIDE 2024. This year’s theme was “Reflect, Empower, Unite” which embodies our collective journey — honoring the past, celebrating the present, and building a more inclusive future.

Reflect

PRIDE Month is a time to reflect on the significant strides made by the LGBTQIA+ community in the fight for equality and recognition. It is also a moment to acknowledge the challenges and obstacles that persist. By reflecting on our history, we can better understand the importance of continuing our efforts to foster an inclusive and accepting environment.

Empower

Empowerment is at the heart of our PRIDE celebrations. We aim to uplift every voice within our company, ensuring that all team members feel seen, heard, and valued. Empowerment comes from education, allyship, and action. Together, we can create a workplace where everyone is free to be their authentic selves.

Unite

Unity is our strength. By standing together, we can create a supportive and inclusive community that champions diversity. Unity is about celebrating our differences while recognizing our shared humanity. It’s about building bridges and fostering connections that transcend barriers.

PRIDE 2024 Events and Activities

The ERG brought this theme to life by curating a series of events and activities for team members to take part in throughout June and beyond.

In-Person Events

PRIDE mixer events are organized for team members in Boston and Barcelona. Around 50 team members joined the PRIDE march in Manila, and we’re looking forward to the Berlin PRIDE march which takes place later next month.

Additionally, we partnered with We Create Space to help them out with merchandising material for the LGBTQ+ Awards Gala 2024 in Barcelona.

Reflective Mondays

Every Monday, the ERG shared stories, historical milestones, and educational content to help team members reflect on the journey of the LGBTQIA+ community. Here’s an overview of the content topics shared:

  • Stonewall Uprising: June 28, 1969 — Riots erupt at the Stonewall Inn in New York City, marking a pivotal moment in the LGBTQIA+ rights movement.
  • LGBTQ rights activist, Marsha P. Johnson, was a key figure in the 1969 Stonewall riots and worked to support homeless transgender youth.
  • The HIV & AIDS Epidemic — Turning pain into activism (1980s). Amidst the alarming rise of the AIDS epidemic in the 1980s, the LGBTQ+ community demonstrated an unwavering commitment to their own.
  • Transforming Lives: The power and progress of antiretroviral treatment in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
  • Love Without Boundaries: The global journey towards same-sex union recognition.
  • Conversion Therapy: The ongoing fight against conversation therapy and efforts to ban conversion therapy are gaining momentum worldwide. Many countries and regions, recognizing the harm it causes, have enacted laws prohibiting the practice, particularly for minors.
  • Unyielding Struggle: The ongoing fight for equal rights, especially in a number of countries where LGBTQIA+ identities and relationships are still criminalized.
  • Queer media: The global impact of queer TV and movies on the LGBTQIA+ agenda has been profound, transforming societal attitudes and increasing visibility for queer communities worldwide.

Trivia Fridays

Each Friday, the ERG posted questions in their slack channel, and team members who answered correctly got a chance at winning a raffle prize.

Our Ongoing Commitment

The PRIDE ERG’s commitment is to champion our team members and our community throughout Vista and Cimpress, serving as a steadfast support and an invaluable educational resource. They are dedicated to providing a safe space, a place of solidarity, and a source of celebration for queerness and LGBTQIA+ individuals. Their goal is to unite LGBTQIA+ team members and allies in both social and professional settings, fostering an inclusive and vibrant community.

Together, we will continue to build a workplace where every individual is respected, empowered, and celebrated for their authentic selves.
