All of us Strangers could be a very effective, supernatural tale but instead takes that mystic element and infuses it with a moving tale about love and grief.

It’s superbly done, only ever touching on the supernatural element that raises a fascinating question of what it would be like to meet our parents now, but as they were in the past.

What would they feel about us, would they be proud? Disappointed? Would the people we meet match with the memories we hold or would the experience ruin something we cherish?

All of us Strangers goes through all that emotion brilliantly, with Andrew Scott simply excellent as a man who is stuck between the past and the future and Paul Mescal equally superb.

It’s an excellent film that constantly keeps you on your toes, wondering what comes next and breaking your heart when that moment arrives, often in devastating fashion.
