Blue Monday Rainbow
Next Monday, the 16th January 2017 has been dubbed ‘The Most Depressing Day of the Year’ (for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere at least!) Some pseudo-science has been used to work out that we will be feeling low due to it being a Monday, it’s cold, wet and grey, finances have been depleted by Christmas and New Year but pay day is still a way off…..
I won’t carry on as it’s making me depressed already!
But wait! It doesn’t have to be like that. Who says that the ‘boffins’ have to be right? Let’s prove them wrong by making it a day to be happy. And what spreads cheer more than colour??!
My plan is to turn my Instagram feed into a rainbow for the day, and I’ve already been asking people to look around this week and start capturing colours. I would love to have more people involved — so how about it?
“What can I do to get involved?” I hear you ask! Well….
You could join in this week and start snapping colours along with me, I have been sending out prompts: Monday — Red, Tuesday — Orange, Wednesday — Yellow, Thursday — Green, Friday — Blue, Saturday — Purple, Sunday — Violet/Pink. All images should be tagged with #BlueMondayRainbow * so that I can find them. If you search the hashtag you can see a rainbow already starting to form!
Or if you feel that you’re already playing catch up then why not join in on the day itself and release a rainbow across your feed for the day? 7 images of 7 colours through out the day. I am hoping to get some well-known names to join in this way so my fingers are crossed. Please get in contact if this is something you’d like to do too.
To be honest, I am not entirely sure how this is all going to turn out, and that is part of the excitement! But I do know that there will be an explosion of colour on what otherwise could have been a blue day.
Find me on Instagram as LikeArt.MakeArt.Live (& it’s started to spread onto Twitter too!)
*By tagging your images with the hashtag you are confirming that you are happy for me to share them on my feed on Monday 16 January. All photos will be credited if used. I would also like to use all submitted pictures in a round-up blog so please let me know if you’d rather not be included.
