This brings authentic learning to an entirely different level. Our children are so lucky to have such wonderful educators and mentors at Mamaroneck HS who clearly go above and beyond the call of duty. Spencer has relayed story after story about all of the many people with whom he has had the opportunity to speak, and the plethora of information he has gathered. He has hobnobbed with politicians, print journalists and broadcast journalists, making great contacts for his future along the way. This trip has been so much more than a lesson on politics, democracy, and journalism. The students have had life lessons on advocating for themselves, understanding the necessity of being prepared in order to be able to think on their feet, the importance of paying attention to detail in conversation and observation, learning to listen closely to other’s thoughts to convey them accurately, and so much more. This is truly an experience of lifetime and I can’t thank you enough!
