Hello everybody. The LISK project and it’s enthusiasts are always busy, and this week past has certainly been no exception.

Seeing is believing, so here is a recap of the highlights and interesting items from the past week on the LISK subreddit and beyond…..

LISK Blockchain; One Youtuber’s Crash Course!

New York Youtuber Eyem Watching has released what he has labelled as “LISK | Crash Course on the Lisk Blockchain”. So no prizes for guessing what the content of this vid is going to be. There is a touch of the pro though to the video production and the info within the recording is delivered in a nice laidback manner, yet still manages to barrel along at a good pace. You can watch the entire 21 minute long video of Eyem Watching’s LISK crash course below. Don’t forget to give the Youtube channel of the original poster a thumbs up.

LISK Eternity Wall allows you to Set a Message in Stone!

Community member u/vekexasia has come up with a novel use for the new data field that was introduced with LISK 1.x. He says “the new Data Field lets you specify up to 64bytes/characters; It is suitable for short messages and other cool stuff.” So he has created the LISK Eternity Wall. A “website that does not just let you write some stuff but will also use “fees” to encode metadata such as foreground/background color and text size”. His hope is that “this will bring some artistic stuff to this geeky world”. You can access the Lisk Eternity Wall here and post up your own message or just browse what others have uploaded.

Delegates will be able to promote their candidacies in the LISK campaign thread.

LISK Campaign Thread Launches!

Community manager /u/Jedrzej_Lisk has let us all know that due to popular demand, HQ would “like to establish a new thread dedicated to potential and existing delegates in order to discuss their credentials and campaign for their delegacy”. The aim is to “declare an official monthly Reddit LISK CAMPAIGN, on which all delegates will be able to promote their candidacies, as well as all community members will be able to ask questions”. Keep an eye out for it and please be sure to get familiar with rules attached to the thread. May the best delegates win! Edit: Thread live now here.

If you are based in the US you will no longer be blocked from entering the GNY ICO

LISK Sidechain Project Delivers a Point of Entry to its ICO for US investors!

In response to requests from the public, the GNY project team have explored every avenue to allow US entrants to acquire LML tokens and now they are pleased to announce they are releasing a temporary ERC20 token to ICO entrants from the 12th November, which will then be listed on a series of exchanges from early December 2018. This is a major update for those of you based in the US that have been blocked from entering the ICO up until this point due to the countries laws. Details of the swap from ERC20 token to LISK sidechain equivalent will be announced early 2019, and Richard Jarritt, Founder & Chief R&D Officer of the GNY project has said he looks forward to bringing the LISK community more enterprise partners prior to that date.

LISK Sidechain Project speaks before leading European logistics company!

Thursday 18th, Christian Junger the CEO of The MADANA project (currently in token Pre-Sale) was be a panelist at the exclusive Fiege Logistic event in Berlin. The topic of discussion was Predictive Analytics. FIEGE is seen as a pioneer of contract logistics and since its formation has evolved from a transport company to a globally-operating full-service logistics provider with a workforce of over 12,000, at 185 sites, in 15 countries. The organisation never ceases to reinvent itself in order to remain state of the art in times of digitisation and automation, so you can see why Predictive Analytics and possibly MADANA is a hot topic for them. we can all now check out how Fiege are moving with the times of digitisation and automation as they trial “Pick-by-Robot” warehouse automation in this video below.

LISK USA have released another informative report!

This week, Lisk USA warmed us up with some of the hottest Lisk news while we continue our onward trudge towards winter! It is a whopper of a report this time round seeing as it contains coverage of Lisk’s first Development Vlog, Lisk.support’s latest tool release, the Lisk Campaign, and how the GNY team found a way to allow US entrants to acquire LISK machine learning (LML) tokens. You can find this weeks report here www.liskusa.io/the-state-of-lisk-report-ep-23/. Thanks to u/E_1–3–3–7 for all the work he has put into this weeks publication.

LISK Community Member Joins the GNY Team!

An exciting update was released during the week by the GNY — LML Team. In it they welcomed Lemii from the Lisk community, who will joining them at GNY — LML in November. Lemii will be working with the team on scaling and data storage on chain. They stated “we are excited for the breakthroughs we can bring in this area and already busy on the issue at GNY HQ”. I agree, seeing as Lemii is the creator of “The Lisk File Manager (beta)”; a web UI to send and download files over the Lisk network.

LISK project’s Motion Graphics team deserve praise!

/u/lindsaysdarkalley, the Performance Marketing Lead for Lisk popped into the LISK subreddit to ask us to show our support for the Lightcurve Motion Graphics team and the work they put in on the LISK project. Lindsay asked the LISK commuity to “support the Best Motion Graphics Team in Blockchain by Subscribing to Lisk’s YouTube Channel 🎬(comment on this thread for video requests!)” Why do this? Well Lindsay said “From our Community Survey results, I learned that over 15% of our own community members haven’t seen any Lisk video content (let alone what % are not currently subscribed to our YouTube channel); That means there is a lot of opportunity for growth within our own channels still; Let’s grab that low hanging fruit”. So if you haven’t already, subscribe here and show your own support.

Lisk playlist, featuring Delegate 4fryn!

Now we get to find out what another Lisker is listening to. Things can’t be all about business ya know; we need to kick back to some tunes once in a while!
This week it is the turn of Delegate 4fryn, a blockchain architect from Berlin, currently working as an engineer professionally for a blockchain company. Here are his picks with clickable links to the youtube videos for each one, and a short personal note for each…….

Zugezogen Maskulin — Plattenbau O.S.T. … Link This is something from my hometown. It is a bit explicit and depressive but also very critical about the circumstances in the post-communist eastern parts of Germany. I love the track and how it points out the situations in many smaller and less-known cities in Germany. “The city is small, but the horizon is wide. Waste your time.”

The Blaze — Territory … Link This is probably the most emotional, strong, and moving video clip I have ever seen. And the music is just perfect, it fits so good. Later, I learned the video was created first and the music added later specifically for this video. It’s still a super impressive thing. Also, I love the middle east, so beautiful landscapes and such a rich and interesting culture. This video reminds me how much more time I would like to spend down there.

Justice — Stress … Link No playlist with at least some hit, that’s what I learned in my 10 years as radio station moderator. So if I had to choose a hit, it would be Justice. Interestingly, the picture this video paints is the French equivalent of the German “Plattenbau” track above.

Great stuff, 4fryn; I’ll need a little sit down after all that intensity. 😃 Thank you for taking the time to submit your picks and being an active part of the community. Folks, if it interests you please check out 4fryn’s delegate proposal here in the LISK CAMPAIGN thread.

Whose picks would you like to see in future weeks playlist, be they from the team at HQ, delegates, or anyone at all in the wider Lisk community? Comment below or send me a PM, even if it is just to put yourself forward

That’s it for today’s Highlights.
