LISK Highlights from 8th to 12th Oct 2018.
Hello everybody. The LISK project and it’s enthusiasts are always busy, and this week past has certainly been no exception.
Seeing is believing, so here is a recap of the highlights and interesting items from the past week on the LISK subreddit and beyond…..
LISK machine learning sidechain ICO moving to phase 2!
The latest tweet from GNY HQ has signaled to interested investors that the window is closing for a 20% discount on the initial price per token. The tweet read… “GNY Phase 1 sale ending October 17th; Mark your calendar; All phase 1 tokens will be reserved for sale; Come join the GNY and LML product line up as we bring machine learning on chain”. GNY are building a typescript based machine learning blockchain project and if you invest in their ICO with LISK then they will supply you with tokens on their Javascript based Lisk Machine Learning blockchain. The network will match the number of tokens 1:1. You will be receiving two sets of tokens; one set for use in the “Lisk Machine Learning” (L.M.L) blockchain, and the other set for use in the GNY blockchain. So the GNY token sale Phase 1 is open until Oct 17th. In Phase 2, the Token price increases from $0.08 to $0.10 (US Dollar). LISK delegate gives back after his first month as a forging delegate!
Remember LISK delegate hirish, the community member behind the creation of the first LISK Wallet with Ledger Nano S Support? Well last month he was voted by the community into a forging position within the 101. Last night to celebrate this he posted the following on LISK chat…. “It’s my first month as a forging delegate; It’s time to give back some love to the community; Keep up the good and hard work for LISK ecosystem!” And with that he went on to list fourteen community members he was donating 100 Lsk apiece to. TonyT908, LiskMonitor/fraklik, gregorst, elevate, endro, slamper, liskpoland.pl, 4fryn, liskascend, sexor/minions, prolina, bloqspace.io, E1337, and nimbus were the well deservered recipients. Well done, /u/hirishh, and keep up the good work.
LISK Ambassador meets with business news radio channel!
Meyade “Elum” Curfs (LISK Dutch Ambassador) had a meeting with BNR; the largest radio news channel in the Netherlands (400k-500k listeners per day). In Meyade’s opinion Lisk is still too often seen as cryptocurrency and people think that Bitcoin and Lisk are one and the same. His goal is to change this image in the Netherlands and give LISK the image it deserves; an independent Blockchain company that is accessible to everyone. Meyade’s meeting was with the editor-in-chief of BNR and the accountant. He reported they were both very enthusiastic and had offered him a spot on the station’s Crypto Podcast, but at the end of the day he felt this did not seem to be the right platform to promote LISK to the people he wished to reach. Instead Meyade pushed a bit more and ended up with a spot on the BNR Business program. Being a general business show Meyade felt this avenue would be best to allow LISK build a professional image in the Netherlands and will also allow it attract the interest of entrepreneurs who want to do business with the Blockchain.
LISK support and TonyT908 release a new tool!
LISK support have always been very good for providing helpful tools for us Liskers. In the recent past they have given us the “LISK Richlist Tool” and the “LISK chainanalysis tool”. Now LISK support are back with a new tool to gather all transactions within certain fields, and download them into an Excel File. The fields you can choose from are Sender Address, Recipient Address, Send or Recipient Address, From Time, To Time, Transaction Type, Minimum Amount, and Maximum Amount. Check it out here. LISK President Named as One of Top Founders of Blockchain Startups in Switzerland!
FinTech News has named Max Kordek as one of 12 Noteworthy Founders of Blockchain and Crypto Startups who are shaping the future of the industry out of Switzerland in an online article yesterday. Max appears in the list amongst such big names as Vitalik Buterin, Co-Founder at Ethereum, and Erik Voorhees, Founder and CEO at ShapeShift. FinTech News describes Lisk as a blockchain application platform whose aim is to allow developers to build applications and deploy their own side-chain linked to the LISK network, including a custom token. They continued by stating that LISK aims to make blockchain technology more accessible with an SDK written in JavaScript, special focus on user experience, developer support and in-depth documentations. As a bit of background, FinTech News describes itself as a site that “provides a source of timely deep insights and latest local news about Digital Finance”. LISK Ascend Relaunches with Formation of LiskAscend Delegate and Alliance with Sherwood Pool!
LISK Ascend’s newly-formed alliance with Sherwood has been described as an attempt to lift up worthy Lisk community members; help them ascend if you like. To this end a few changes have taken place. Ascend is eliminating the pledge system and the “vote for us all” rule to receive forging rewards from Ascend delegates has also been eliminated. They’ve created a 90% liskascend delegate that will share 50% with Sherwood Pool voters. An additional 40% will be shared with voters who vote for the liskascend delegate and for Ascend delegate Moosty. Ascend will continue to promote all Ascend delegates. LISK Project Team Grows even in a Bear Market!
I had heard rumors about some new additions to the team, and it turns out they were true. Yesterday we got our first look at the new additions to Lightcurve, the team tasked with building and promoting the LISK project. We have Pablo (Backend Developer), Menghan (Business Developer), Ishan (Backend Developer), and Benjamin (Frontend Developer). You can see an image of the new workers here. Welcome, folks! Lisk File Manager (beta) Released!
/u/Lemiiii popped up again yesterday to share his new creation with us. The Lisk File Manager (beta); a web UI to send and download files over the Lisk network. One of its best points according to Lemiiii is the fact that there is “no more fiddling around with command line or downloadable executables!” To upload, simply select a file from your computer and click upload, then send the required amount of LISK to the randomly generated address (or just click the applink to prepopulate Lisk hub with all the data), wait a few seconds, success. To download, just enter “File ID” and press download. Try it out now at http://lisktools.eu/filemanager/ . Lemiiii was also happy to announce that this project will shortly become a collaboration between him and TonyT908 to allow an improved (IPFS?) version be ported to lisk.support in the near future. LISK Machine Learning Sidechain’s First Enterprise Partner is revealed!
For this team up with La Nova Tile Importers and ReThink! Tile Studio, LML Machine Learning will utilize the artificial intelligence technology of GNY to algorithmically generate realistic images of common flooring materials such as natural stone, cements, or even wood varieties. The aim is that machine learning will efficiently provide the manufacturing sector a deterministic and non-repeating image base to print onto products such as ceramic tiles, fabrics, vinyl, etc. Read more about the partnership here on the GNY blog.
