Rick Avery was born on April 28th in New York City, New York. He is commonly known as an Actor, Director, Stuntman, Author, Martial Artist & More. Here are 10 things you might not know about Rick Avery.

  1. He Has Performed Stunts for Almost 40 Years.

Rick has performed in over 500 films as an all-around stunt performer with all expected phases of stunt work. He is a member of the Stuntman’s Association and also a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

2. He Is a Published Author.

3. He Has a Podcast with Well-Known Celebrities.

Rick Avery did 73 episodes of “Hard Knocks with the Avery’s” with his two sons, who are both stuntmen as well. The show aired on LA talk radio and was listened to by people around the world. The show interviewed some of the most interesting people to ever exist, with anyone from world champions to celebrities.

4. He also Directs Movies.

Rick isn’t afraid to jump behind the camera as well. He directed two action films, “Deadly Outbreak” (also known as Deadly Takeover) and “The Expert”. He has also directed the second unit on 16 feature films, such as Hands of Stone, The Sweetest Thing, and Anchor Man.

5. He Produced and Directed the World War II Documentary “Raiders Remembered”.

The documentary tells the story of Doolittle’s Raiders. The story of the exceptionally brave men of the United States Army, Air Force, and Navy, who flew their B-25 Mitchell bombers off of the aircraft carrier USS Hornet (CV-8) in the first strike against the Japanese home islands in April of 1942.

6. He is a Martial Arts Expert in Kenpo.

Rick owned and operated “Rick Avery’s Karate” school which focused on Kenpo and other martial arts. Rick is a 7th-degree black belt in Kempo and holds multiple championship titles.

7. He is a USA World Masters Boxing Champion.

He is a 4 times USA World Masters Champion in boxing. Now he is a certified coach and promoter. He is a Co-Promoter for the upcoming Las Vegas Invitational Championships. The event is hosted twice a year and is the largest masters tournament in the world.

8. He has also Acts.

Ricky Avery has had some very memorable roles in huge films such as Batman Begins, Heat, and more. He attributes this to being easy to work with and being in the right place at the right time.

9. He Served in Both the Army, and Also as A Police Officer.

You heard that right. We know it’s a still from a movie. But yes, in real life, Rick Avery served as a Police Officer with the Santa Barbara Police Department for 6 years. Prior to being a police officer, he served in the US Army as a Sergeant.

10. He is the owner of 4 blades Helicopters.

He has done all phases of piloting a helicopter, from news, fire firefighting, movie production, helicopter stunts, and is also an instructor.

Bonus: He has a passion for photography.

Rick has developed his love for photography over the past years. He finished his degree in digital photography and journalism recently at SNHU college.
