Losing Yourself

When you look into a clear midnight sky, what do you feel? What do you see?

Many of you might not be able to answer these questions…but why? Is it because of the ever-changing technological world we live in today that constantly keeps us distracted from seeing the simple beauty all around us? Is it the handheld devices we keep grasped between our fingertips, with our eyes locked-on like some kind of lifeless creature?

Although, many will disagree stating that technology is merely another way to connect us to the entire world. This post isn’t about bashing technology or in any way making it seem like technology is bad, in fact, I wouldn’t be able to write this or reach anyone without it. So, I’m simply stating my opinion that we need to stop and smell the roses once in awhile to truly connect ourselves to the world around us. When was the last time you took 5–10 minutes to just be still and free your body and mind from all distractions, losing yourself?

Losing yourself, reaching a state of mind similar to that of nirvana (Reaching a perfect place of peace and happiness). This feeling of losing yourself is something I pleasantly experience each time I look to the stars, determined to seek one shooting across the midnight sky. The monotony of everyday life drives me to cherish this state of mind to achieve true happiness.

I hope this post has brought some value to you in the hope that you can find your true happiness. Something to remember is that through the darkest of nights, brings the brightest of stars.

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?
