A 30 day collection of poems

I open the door
he looks up at me
and cries

I reach down
run my fingers through his hair
scratch behind his ears
and down his chin

He comes closer
and I hold him
Nuzzling my face
against his neck

I let him know
how much I love him
I let him know
he’s beautiful
and spectacular

He cries again
wanting to be let go

I pull him in tightly
with a kiss on the head
and one
before I let him free
