As the Senior Class Queen of my university, I’ve decided to use whatever influence I have to spread love and promote self-acceptance on campus.
I was inspired by Shea Glover to make a video, showing how students react to being called beautiful. Feel free to check her video out as well!
I was amazed to see how uncommon it was for my peers to be honestly complimented. It was almost as if, they had become so accustomed to insincerity or to people just seeing right through them as though they were invisible.
My Campaign is called “Black Love on Campus” because I attend a Historically Black University(HBCU). It is my aim, however, to project love into my immediate community. Matters not the race, age or gender. I want to enable self- love, and love for others at the core of every environment that I exist in.
