The start of May not only signals that summer is around the corner, but it’s also the LooseKeys anniversary! This month kicks off the 8th year of business for LooseKeys!

Not only has the motion graphics landscape changed dramatically over these last few years but so has LooseKeys. Even after eight years, we’re still a small creative studio, but by staying small, it has allowed us to be agile and take risks on projects. Being a small creative business has taught the whole team many lessons over the years and has presented us with numerous opportunities.

Since Brad Chmielewski went full-time with LooseKeys in May of 2011 every day has been flawless, every pixel pushed to perfection, all keys were suitably loose, all renders finished on time and glitch-free, and every client ended phone calls with rounds of applause. Well, perhaps that is not entirely accurate because no good story is without a few bumps and wrong turns along the way. And this last year has had a few shakeups for what we are doing and the energy of LooseKeys.

Last year Jake Williams and Ethan Barnowsky took their talents to the freelance world. It’s fantastic to see them continuing to do great work and hopefully having fun doing it. This change leads us to our latest hire with Torey Kervick joining the creative team. And we’ll likely add someone else here soon to help keep the flow and quality work everyone has learned to expect from us.

This type of change is exciting for LooseKeys; not only does it allow us to expand our style and talent but also brings in some new voices to help deliver for our clients.

Eight years has allowed us to build some great relationships with clients that now trust us and believe that we are the right studio to help bring their message to life. We have also had the opportunity to work with larger clients like Oracle & Disney as our portfolio continues to grow and we show that we can deliver not only on character animation but also, editing and motion graphics.

Last year we tried to make a shift to do more than explainer videos, and it paid off as we’ve been able to flex our motion graphics muscles a bit more with music videos, more animated shorts, commercials, show openings, and branding packages.

We try to share as many of the projects that we work on as we can to let everyone see our process and journey. Our work is always improving because we push ourselves with every project to show that no matter what comes across our plate, whether its 2D, 3D, video production, AR or VR, we can handle it.

While we started as an explainer video company, LooseKeys has grown into an all-purpose animation studio. This skilled team is developing, and each member is incredibly creative. No matter what project comes across our desks, we’re ready to tackle it!
