You have made some phenomenal progress. You feel that through this experience you are more capable and confident. Why should you be made to feel embarrassed for doing something “pedestrian” if it improves your life and feels satisfying? Shouldn’t feminism advocate experiences that empower women to make positive improvements in their lives?

In your article you call to question whether your motives for weight loss and fitness are derived from conforming to the expectations of society. Have you thought about how your embarrassment/fear to share your experience to other feminists may come from conforming to the expectations of the feminist community?
