Do’s and Don’t in our Japanese Apartment (Pics of the List we Signed)

So if you guys have been reading my blog, we reached our apartment in Tokyo. Everything was so different from my Home country. Although we were tired but still I could see that everything was so clean and neat and green. The greenery really amazed me. My first shock came when I saw all the trees at ground level. I had always imagined Tokyo as a “Concrete Jungle”; atleast that’s what the common perception is but I saw everything was green and despite. Anyhow, we reached our apartment and as we placed our luggage down, we were made to sign a document by the building manager in which after showing us each and every part of the House in working condition, he apprised us with “Rules and Regulations”. I am blanking out the parts which i think should not go on Internet from Security point of view.

I thought, first of all its amazing that they are showing us everything by pointing fingers at each and every items so that we are responsible for them and at the time of leaving them we will be asked to complete any deficiency and discrepancy, secondly, its always good to explain the rules and regulations in advance. Most of us had come from different countries with varying backgrounds and rules and thus its important to keep every one abreast. Especially the rules regarding “Not throwing dusters, fruits, baby diapers etc inside the toilet was very important. Apparently, there was a filter at the end of the sewerage line which filtered human waste before disposing it off and things got stuck in it before and building had to pay to get it fixed. Since, there was no means of knowing who threw it, therefore, they kept cautioning everyone.

Similarly, the rules on not disturbing other residents was given special emphasis. Garbage disposal is complete subject and i will do separate blog on it. But its a huge deal in Tokyo. Everything has to be separated and disposed off on separate days.

Anyhow, i have uploaded the pics so Happy Reading

Next time, I will write on which all documents you need to register with city Government.
