It’s worse than that. Not only are TC39 not fixing the language’s fundamental problems, they’re turning it into a frickin’ behemoth! Let’s look at the size of the language spec (PDF documents) for:

  • ES3.0–191 pages
  • ES5.1–258 pages
  • ES6.0–566 pages
  • ES8.0–885 pages!!!

These are all from ECMA.

Pretty soon, ECMAScript will give Common Lisp a run for its money as a huge, unwieldy language. Maybe it’s already too late…
