Silence can get awkward, but it’s a great tool to get people to give you more information.

When you’re having a conversation with someone and get to the point of a silent moment, it creates a type of psychological tension that the other person is subconsciously trying to solve, and that’s why if you remain silent until the other person breaks that tension, they will reveal information that you weren’t expecting.
