Trying is like hedging. When we say “I’ll try” it’s giving us wiggle room to justify a failure and that’s because we don’t know how to fail properly in our society.

When I mean fail properly I mean it in the sense that we give to much significance to failure and allow our self worth to be defined by it.

Failing properly means not being fully invested in an outcome because you understand that the outcome is out of your control.

Failing properly means you have the courage to test something that you’re uncertain about by having the confidence that if failure does present itself, you’ll be able to look at it objectively and learn from it so that you can become better the next time around.

Don’t try anything. Just do it and learn from what happens next.
