What Your Paycheck Really Means
Your paycheck is a reflection of your time. Time is an asset that can not be created nor reimbursed. Once you’ve used your time there’s no getting it back. Time is a limited resource and because it’s finite and because everyone is bound to the constraints of time, the time that you offer to others provides value and in exchange for that value comes money, a representation of how valuable your time is.
If time was no object to the source of your income, then the source of your income wouldn’t have to offer you income in the first place because they could do it themselves. Having more people in place to execute on what needs to be done is valuable and the time limitation that life puts on all of us is what creates a sense of urgency to get things done and to compensate those who take the time to do so.
So when it comes to money, realize that it is not the end all be all but simply a reflection. A reflection of the value you provide with the limited time that you have to offer and how that offering goes to contributing to someone else’s limited amount of time to get things done.
