Macaron comes from the Italian word “macaroni”.

Macaroon is an English derivation of the French word, “macaron”.

Macarons are meringue based made with almond flour, egg whites, and sugar.

Macarons have an eggshell like crust with a soft inner meringue texture and not very crumbly

Macaroons have a lumpy and dense texture and are very crumbly.

Macarons are best eaten within a few days after baking.
