I made an extension that labels us ‘human.’

we are human is a Chrome Extension that replaces ‘black people’ with ‘human beings.’

In this climate, I wanted a visual reminder that I’m a human being, not ‘a black,’ deplorable, worthless, or whatever the alt-right would convince you those of the African Diaspora are, so I created an app.

we are human is largely based on Steven Frank’s code. It replaces common references to black people (like African-American, Black People, The Blacks) with ‘human being.’ It’s not perfect- you may have to refresh your page for it to ‘kick in.’ It was made for me, but I decided to share.

No agenda. No real point- I’m practicing self-care, and this makes my web a tiny bit happier. I hope it helps you, too.
