You captured, with another brilliant analogy, the frantic sensation of being out of control and becoming more out of control as we put every effort into attempting to control. I could feel the downward spiral!

Without giving up alertness is the important part. Without alertness, in every situation, we are going down, sometimes to a place where it will be impossible to restart our engines and recover our balance.
