I was 21 when I had my son. My husband and my mum were there but we were pretty much left to figure it out ourselves (they were busy with non-straightforward births) which in hindsight bordered on negligence…I had a 3rd degree tear.

I was 23 when I had my daughter. This time my husband and my stepfather were there. Not before or since have I met a man who was a better definition of support than my stepfather.

I was 34 when I had my 2nd daughter. My husband, and my then 14 and 12 year old children were there. They were amazing.

My daughter was also 21 when she had my granddaughter.
